What are the ingredients?
Lidocaine, Tetracaine,and Phenylephrine
How does it work?
The phenylephrine keeps the medication localized in the oral mucosa where
you need the anesthetic effect, and lidocaine and tetracaine are topical
anesthetic agents.
Contra-indications?
People who suffer from cardio-vascular disease- esp. tachycardia
How is it applied?
Apply TAC, by first drying the oral mucosa, then apply a micro-brush amount
to the buccal area- leave in place for about 1 minute (up to 3 minutes)Wait
1-3 minutes before beginning procedure – test area to make sure
numbing has taken effect. If numbing to clean a quadrant – apply
using a Q-tip, but make sure to keep away from the throat area- to keep
from numbing the gag reflex.

Extraction of primary teeth
How long does it take to work-to
take effect?
Time varies depending on individual patients – Immediately up to
3 minutes.
How long does it last- on the
shelf?
6 months- must remain out of sunlight and with the lid tightly closed
Why do you need a prescription?
Lidocaine, Tetracaine and Phenylephrine are prescription bulk ingredients.
Why can’t I prescribe
it for office use only?
FDA does not allow for compounded medication to be prescribed for Office
